Over the last decade technology has continuously evolved, transforming our lives from how we carry out our daily activities to how we interact with people. This can only be achieved by introduction of new technology like artificial intelligence, machine learning, CGI, robotics etc. These inventions automated a lot of how technology is built today and has made other older methods obsolete. Computer architecture is one of the oldest technology that came with the invention of computers and has lasted for decades to become the backbone for these newer models. Facebook META, AMECA the robot and its facial expression, the latest version of your laptop and the upcoming version of the apple iPhone; All these modern technology has the computer architecture as its underlying backbone.
A major design in computer architecture is the SOC also called system on chip. A system on a chip is an integrated circuit that integrates all or most components of a computer or other electronic system. These components almost always include a central processing unit (CPU), memory, input/output ports and secondary storage etc. Its major distinction from other integrated circuits like a UART, decoder etc. is its ability to run renewable codes without changing the hardware design. It achieves this through its memory storage which can store data inform of instruction. These instructions when changed, changes the operation of the circuit example is an Arduino and a lot of AVR chips.
