4.0 Downloading and Installing Quartus Web Edition

In this tutorial we are going to download and install the Quartus II web edition software from Intel website. Quartus have many editions including standard, lite, pro but the web edition is sufficient enough for this tutorial. Installing this edition is straightforward. However, the reader should first create an account with Intel for this purpose as we will show during the course of this tutorial. Then, we assume that the reader uses Quartus on a PC with the Microsoft Windows operating system. Please consult the user guide for using Quartus design suite on other operating systems.

check that the right edition and the right operating system is selected.

move down the page and select the combined files and click on the download icon.

Agree to the terms and conditions.

At this point you are prompted to sign in if you already have an account or to signup.

At this point the zipped folder is done downloading, unzip it and run the setup file.

Accept the agreement and contiue.

Select the installation directory and click next.

check all, you would probably be needing most them later, you can also select the paid version of modelsim altera.
